Hello, and welcome. I am Khristina.
The first thing I notice is the colour. Not colour everywhere — that would be too easy. I look for the moments when colour arrives quietly and changes everything. When a worn wall becomes a classical painting. Colour is building tension, guiding the eye, and revealing the fragile balance between decay and vitality, stillness and movement, the monumental and the ordinary.
My work moves between documentary observation and formal composition. I do not stage what I find. I watch, I wait, and I pay attention to the relationships between people and their surroundings. I work mostly in natural available light, allowing shadows to remain.
There is no hierarchy in what I photograph. A grand colonnade and a line of drying laundry receive the same care. Look at both with equal seriousness and notice that the ordinary is not so ordinary. My photographs are an attempt to show that even in the most weathered places, there is quiet beauty and dignity.
I am based between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, and I travel widely for both personal projects and commissions.
